Startup Refugees is a non-profit voluntary network that supports asylum seekers and refugees with employment and entrepreneurship. Startup Refugees was founded in 2015. Our network consists of over 500 companies, government officials, NGOs, universities, congregations, research institutes, communities and individuals who support newcomers with starting businesses and entering the Finnish labour market. In March 2018 we launched a Business Program in collaboration with our network members and 24 business teams. During a six-month period the business teams are matched with professionals who offer support in starting and running a company, connected with mentors and important networks, and guided through educational workshops and market validation events – such as this pop up restaurant.
