Societal impact – prevailing understandings and practices

The presentation outlines and discusses prevailing understandings of the concept of societal impact, and provides insights into the practice of evaluation of societal impact. Aside drawing conclusions based upon the existing literature, the presentation also summarizes and discusses the main results of semi-structured interviews, which were carried out by the HEISE project in Finland, Estonia and Spain, in order to learn more about the existing understandings and practices of assessment of societal impact among the higher education institutions and their stakeholders in these countries.
